Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely popular. Sara Ramirez was raised by her American mother and faced a lot racial taunts and led her to feel unwelcome. When she went to an event at school and was given high praise for her singing at the age of 9 she began to grow more confident. The singer not only gained confidence because of the experience, but she also changed career goals. In 1992, she earned her degree from New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. But her biggest break came when she played the part of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway show Spamalot receiving not just her the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. Following that, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. Alongside being a popular singer, she also released her own solo album as well as an extended version. In addition, she is a LGBT activist.
